Thoughts while drinking coffee before the Spa Conference in Vegas:
The question is not really "Do Gemstones have the potential to effect change in a human body and mind?” The question is really more like “What the hell IS the human body and mind?” I think we should actually start with that.
Consider the fact that our apparently physical bodies are really mostly space surrounding very small particles of matter and that those particles of matter are really transitionally stable expressions of universal fields of principles, forces, and energy and that all of this is penetrated by, creating, and being effected by electromagnetic fields and potentially other field and energy wave phenomena. I mean, well, you just need to first consider how science, mathematics, and quantum mechanics is now describing reality.
Consider it. Really. Can you feel it? The Space? The waves and flow of reality fields affecting us all…
You also need to consider that our biochemical reality is being affected every moment by our thoughts, beliefs and emotions in profound ways. Go ahead, have a thought…. and BAM, you just changed your chemicals. These thoughts, beliefs, and emotions can and do determine our health, our happiness, and the likelihood of any of us ever achieving any of our goals. All of these things are impacted by the energy, focus, intensity and patterns of our consciousness. Welcome to the new science. We are only now trying to learn how to use this knowledge effectively and in practical terms.
Gemstones are capable of enhancing and changing electromagnetic properties. They can also be focal points for our consciousness. The question then is really, “Why NOT use gemstones to effect change in our bodies and our lives?”
Well, I did have reasons to avoid it myself actually. But those reasons mostly involved wanting to operate in the world where most people thought such things as gemstone energy medicine were superstitious relics of magical thinking with no relevance to actual useful medicine or life.
I had to get over it.
The simple and profound truth has been that in the past two decades of practicing natural medicine, yoga, acupuncture, nutrition, bodywork and qi gong there has been little else that has enhanced my ability to show patients and students the immense potential locked inside themselves.
The more pure and high quality the gemstone the more the effects appeared to be felt. Very poor quality stones were no better than placebo, but placebo is a powerful force and if that alone is what you are after I have no argument for using them that way I suppose. The quality and clarity of a crystal being used to create a laser, or perform in any of the other modern technology and has to be considered in any device. I believe we should pay as close attention to the shape, quality, and constituents of the gemstones we use on our bodies for meditation and healing as we would if we were putting them in our computers, diagnostic medical equipment, or weapons.
When people actually experience what I can do with ultrapure gemstone tools they respond somewhere between delight, surprise, excitement and nervousness. That last part is tricky. It can be a little scary to encounter modern day magic. I get that. I am not really a wizard, but waving a wand holding spheres of precious gems through the air around a body, and having that person feel so many things without touching them…well, it makes you consider the nature of reality.
